What’s New In TIA Portal v18 Update 5
TIA Portal V18 update 5 contains the following improvements and changes:
- Migrating TIA Portal Classic projects
- The integrated migration of Classic projects (*.s7p, *.mcp, *.hmi) is no longer supported as of TIA Portal V18 Upd 5.
- Use the migration tool to convert the initial project to a migration file that can be read by TIA Portal (*.am18). Following conversion, this file is transferred to the target system and migrated into the TIA Portal.
- Software units: Changed downloading behaviour (S7-1500)
- The downloading behaviour of software units was changed so that you can now download individual software units more easily, independently of other software units.
- When downloading software units a check is carried out whether further software units have to be downloaded as well to ensure the consistency of the ONLINE project.
- Handing over data blocks as actual parameters
Data blocks which contain both retentive as well as non-retentive elements can not be handed over to a formal parameter of the data type STRUCT during the block call. A syntax error was not always reported in older versions. Now, a syntax error is output in all programming languages.
- HTML browser on Wincc v18: HTML files are correctly displayed in the browser.
What’s New In TIA Portal v18 Update 4, TIA V18 Update 3
TIA Portal V18 update 3, TIA V18 Update 4, contains the following improvements and changes:
- CA certificates of projects from TIA Portal < V17 are not accepted when connecting from/to S7-1500 CPUs
Secure communication from/to S7-1500 CPUs with firmware V3.1 cannot be established if CA certificates are used and the project in use was created with TIA Portal < V17. These CA certificates are not accepted because the “KeyUsage” property is missing, and the property “BasicConstraints” is not set as “critical”.
- Namespaces in libraries
All versions of a type must have the same namespace. It is therefore not possible to create a new version of a type and assign it a new namespace. Instead, create a new type with a new namespace.
- Events at faceplates on WinCC V18
In the editor of the faceplate, type the connection between contained objects and events of the “Interface” list is displayed correctly in the “Events” tab.
