What’s New In S7 1200 Firmware V4.7 Update
The following features are new in the S7-1200 Firmware Update V4.7 release:
- User management access control (UMAC)
- Provides the ability to grant specific users or user groups access to a PLC and can significantly reduce security risks.
- Performs local management of users, roles, and CPU function rights in the TIA Portal – STEP 7 project
- System logging (Syslog)
- A log audit functionality to record the critical operations of users and important security events
- Ability to set the names of SNMP read and read/write Community strings
- An option to configure the read/write community string if SNMPv1 is activated.
- S7-1200 Firmware V4.7 is compatible with all CPU hardware with firmware version V4.0 or greater.
S7 1200 Firmware Update V4.7 Note
To install and using S7 1200 PLC Firmware V4.7 we need:
- Siemens PLC S7-1200 Standard CPU and STEP 7 – TIA Portal V20 (Basic or Professional Version) or greater.
- Or S7 1200 Fail-safe CPU and STEP 7 – TIA Portal V20 (Basic or Professional Version) or greater.
- All S7-1200 PLCs with CPU FW V4 (Article No. 6ES721x-1xx40-0XB0) can be updated to the CPU firmware 4.7.0
- S7 1200 firmware update V4.7 is compatible and interchangeable with any PLC hardware with FW versions V4.0 – V4.6.
- The projects created on TIA Portal with firmware versions V4.0 – V4.6 are compatible with V4.7 firmware.
- S7 1200 V4.7 update firmware features are available only in STEP 7 V4.7 projects.
- A SIMATIC Memory Card can be used optionally to expand the CPU load memory, load application software, or execute a firmware update.
