This post shows how to communicate between Schneider HMI and PLC Delta via the RS485 port. Certainly, 365evn guides you through the process in detail.
Preparing for Communication Schneider HMI and PLC Delta DVP
To connect Schneider HMI and PLC Delta DVP series through RS485 port, we used:

Hardware
- Schneider HMI Magelis HMIGXU5512
- Delta PLC DVP Series
- Programming cable for HMI, PLC
- Communication cable (Handmade)
- Power supply, wires…
Software
- Delta PLC Programming Software – ISPSoft V3.18
- Schneider HMI Programming Software – Vijeo Designer Basic V2.0 HF1
Programming on ISPSoft For Connect Magelis HMI and PLC Delta
On Delta ISPSoft V3.18 (you can use another version), follow the steps to make the communication PLC Delta and Schneider HMI:
- Open ISPSoft and create a new project with the PLC model
- Add a new program and configure the COM port parameters to make the communication HMI Schneider Magelis and Delta PLC. We used COM 2 for that.

- Then, create a simple network to test communication. Ex: Start/Stop the motor.
- Finally, build the project and download Delta PLC program to the hardware. You can refer to the previous post to do that
Connect Schneider HMI To PLC Delta DVP – HMI Programming
On Vijeo Designer Basic V2.0 HF1 (you can use another version), follow the steps to make the communication between Schneider HMI and PLC Delta DVP:
- Open Vijeo Designer Basic V2.0 and create a new project with the Magelis HMIGXU5512 HMI.
- Then, add a new driver for communication Schneider Magelis HMI to PLC Delta DVP as below:
- Manufacturer: Delta Electronics
- Driver: DVP(SIO)
- Equipment: DVP RTU Equipment

- And, on the IO Manager in Vijeo Designer Basic, we configure the diver parameter like on the PLC

- Create a simple UI with button, label, lamp… to control the variable on the Delta PLC
- Finally, build the project and download Schneider HMI Program to the hardware. You can refer to the previous post to do that

Communication Cable for Schneider Magelis HMI and PLC Delta DVP
We will make the cable to connect Schneider HMI and PLC Delta DVP through RS485. Follow the guide below to do it.

Test communication Schneider HMI and PLC Delta DVP
After all, we put the communication to the Magelis HMI and DVP PLC. Try touching the HMI and check the result on PLC.
