S7 1200 Firmware Update V4.6.1 Information
Firmware V4.6 for PLC S7 1200 is able to provide more memory for all CPUs because of code customisations. CPU modules of the HW generation V4 (article number: 6ES7 21x-1xx40-0xb0) already in use can use this extension through the firmware update. In addition, the SNMP service is disabled by default.
S7 1200 Firmware Update V4.6.1 provides the following improvements and functional changes:
- Ensures that OBs execute in priority order and run to completion
- Ability for CP modules to receive data after errors occur
- Increased work memory for S7-1200 CPUs: CPU 1211C is now 75 Kbytes
- The CPU disables SNMP by default
Additionally, firmware V4.6 is compatible with all S7-1200 hardware with firmware version V4.0 or greater.
Requirements for S7-1200 Firmware V4.6.1
To install and using S7 1200 PLC Firmware V4.6.1 we need:
- S7-1200 Standard CPUs and STEP 7 – TIA Portal V18 (Basic or Professional Version or greater).
- Or S7 1200 Fail-safe CPUs and STEP 7 – TIA Portal V18 (Basic or Professional Version or greater).
- SIMATIC S7-1200 CPUs V4 (Article No. 6ES721x-1xx40-0XB0) can be updated to the CPU firmware 4.6.1
- S7 1200 firmware update V4.6 is compatible and interchangeable with any S7-1200 hardware with firmware versions V4.0 – V4.5.
- STEP 7 projects created with firmware versions V4.0 – V4.5 are compatible with V4.6.1 firmware.
- New S7 1200 V4.6.1 firmware features are available only in STEP 7 V4.6 projects.
